Terms of Service

These Terms explain the rules for using Homeschool Op. They are intended to be readable while still covering the responsibilities that come with a family homeschool platform.

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Homeschool Op LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. In these Terms, "Homeschool Op," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Homeschool Op LLC.

By creating an account, purchasing access, or using Homeschool Op, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The adult account holder must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. If you use Homeschool Op on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to do so.

2. What Homeschool Op provides

Homeschool Op is a homeschool planning and management service that can connect family information, Learning Sources, curriculum, planning, completed learning, resources, progress, attendance, records, state guidance, student experiences, paper workflows, and AI-assisted support.

Homeschool Op does not replace the curriculum your family chooses, does not act as a school, accredited institution, attorney, accountant, medical provider, financial adviser, or teacher of record unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise, and does not make legal or educational decisions for your family.

3. Household and student access

The adult account holder controls the household. You are responsible for deciding which students may use supported student-facing experiences, supervising that use as appropriate for the child, and keeping account access reasonably secure.

Student Mode and similar experiences are part of the parent-managed household. Students do not receive independent consumer ownership of the household account, official records, billing, or other parent-authority functions unless Homeschool Op later offers a separate written account model.

You agree not to give a child access to parent-only credentials or administrative functions that are not intended for student use.

4. Your account and security

You agree to provide accurate account information, protect your login credentials, use reasonable care with shared devices, and promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

You may not sell, transfer, rent, or share account access outside the household or access model that applies to your plan unless we expressly permit it.

5. Paid plans, guarantees, automatic renewal, cancellation, and refunds

Paid plans, billing cadence, founding offers, creator offers, complimentary access, promotional terms, and any applicable guarantee are shown in the purchase or access flow before you agree to them. The checkout or offer terms presented to you are part of these Terms for that purchase.

Family Plus subscriptions are charged when you subscribe unless the purchase flow expressly says otherwise. If a paid plan renews automatically, we will present the recurring price and billing cadence before purchase. You authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the payment method you select for the recurring amounts you agree to pay until you cancel or the subscription otherwise ends. Taxes may apply.

The first paid Family Plus subscription for a household includes our 30-Day In-Sync Guarantee unless the purchase flow expressly says otherwise. If, within 30 calendar days after the initial successful payment, you decide Homeschool Op is not right for your family, you may request a refund and we will refund 100% of that initial subscription payment. No usage threshold, proof, checklist, or explanation is required.

The 30-Day In-Sync Guarantee applies once per household to the initial payment for the household's first paid Family Plus subscription. It does not create a new 30-day refund window for renewals, re-subscriptions, or repeated purchases. A refund under the guarantee ends the refunded subscription and its future renewal. Founding-rate protection also ends if a Founding subscription is voluntarily canceled or refunded.

If Family Plus is paid through an education savings account, scholarship, ClassWallet, or another third-party funding source, any approved refund is returned to the original funding source and may also be subject to that program's rules. We do not convert third-party education funds into a cash refund to the family.

You can cancel renewal using the cancellation method made available for your subscription. Outside an applicable guarantee or other refund right, cancellation stops future renewal but does not normally reverse charges already incurred. We will not intentionally make cancellation materially harder than enrollment, and we will provide any renewal or cancellation notices required by applicable law.

Any non-waivable consumer right provided by applicable law controls if it conflicts with these terms.

Founding, promotional, or grandfathered pricing remains subject to the eligibility and continuity terms presented with the applicable offer. If an offer says the rate continues only while an eligible subscription remains active, a voluntary cancellation may end that price protection.

6. Your content and homeschool information

You keep ownership of the information and content you submit to Homeschool Op. You give Homeschool Op a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, store, process, reproduce, transform, transmit, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, improve, and provide the service and features you request.

This permission ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, subject to reasonable backup cycles, legal obligations, security records, transaction records, and other retention permitted by our Privacy Policy or applicable law.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to upload materials, scans, images, curriculum excerpts, photos, student work, and other content. Do not upload content you are not authorized to use.

7. Curriculum, books, publishers, and third-party materials

Curriculum names, books, publishers, websites, apps, courses, and other third-party materials may belong to their respective owners. References inside Homeschool Op do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, approval, or partnership unless we say so explicitly and are authorized to do so.

Homeschool Op may help you organize, identify, or describe materials you already use, but access to third-party content remains subject to the third party's own terms, licenses, copyright, and other rights.

You may not use Homeschool Op to reproduce or distribute third-party material beyond what you are legally permitted to use.

8. AI-assisted features

Op and other AI-assisted features can help explain information, organize work, propose plans, summarize context, or prepare supported actions for review. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate for a particular family or situation.

You remain responsible for reviewing AI-assisted information and for decisions about your homeschool. Homeschool Op does not promise that AI output will be error-free or suitable for legal, medical, safety, financial, or other professional decisions.

Where a feature prepares a meaningful action, the product may require parent review or confirmation before the action becomes authoritative. You are responsible for reviewing the result before relying on it.

9. State guidance, funding, and compliance information

Homeschool Op may provide source-backed information about homeschool laws, education routes, records, deadlines, funding programs, education savings accounts, scholarships, or related requirements. That information is educational and organizational information, not legal, tax, financial, or eligibility advice, and Homeschool Op does not guarantee legal compliance or program eligibility.

Laws, agency guidance, local rules, program rules, funding amounts, and family circumstances can change. You are responsible for reviewing cited official sources, confirming current program requirements, and seeking qualified professional advice when you need it.

10. Records, attendance, grades, and exports

Homeschool Op can help organize information used for attendance, learning time, portfolios, grades, transcripts, reports, and other homeschool records. The parent or guardian remains responsible for reviewing official records and determining whether they satisfy the requirements that apply to the family.

Before closing an account or deleting important information, you should export or retain copies of records you need to keep. Homeschool Op is not a substitute for any independent record-retention obligation that applies to you.

11. Acceptable use

Do not use Homeschool Op to violate law or the rights of another person.

Do not attempt to access another household, account, record, token, or nonpublic system without authorization.

Do not interfere with the service, defeat access controls, distribute malware, overload the service, or abuse automated access.

Do not probe for vulnerabilities in a way that risks family data, service availability, or other users. Good-faith security reports should follow our published security contact and responsible-disclosure expectations.

Do not upload unlawful, infringing, deceptive, exploitative, or malicious content.

Do not use the service to harass, threaten, impersonate, exploit, or endanger another person.

Do not misrepresent an affiliation with Homeschool Op or use our brand in a way that suggests an endorsement or partnership we have not approved.

12. Homeschool Op intellectual property and feedback

Homeschool Op and its software, brand, designs, documentation, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose while your access is active.

If you voluntarily send us ideas, suggestions, or product feedback, you give us permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided that this does not transfer ownership of your private family content to us.

13. Third-party services

Homeschool Op depends on third-party infrastructure and may link to or interact with third-party services. We are not responsible for a third party's independent service, content, privacy practices, availability, or terms.

If you choose to use a third-party service with Homeschool Op, your use of that third party may also be governed by the third party's terms and privacy policy.

14. Availability, beta features, and changes

We work to keep Homeschool Op reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security events, provider outages, internet failures, or other circumstances can temporarily affect availability.

We may add, change, pause, or retire features as the product evolves, subject to commitments we make in an applicable paid plan and rights that cannot be waived by law. Beta, early-access, preview, or experimental features may change more quickly and may be less reliable than generally available features.

15. Suspension, termination, and account closure

You may stop using Homeschool Op at any time and may cancel a subscription as described in the service. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, respond to fraud or abuse, comply with law, address nonpayment, enforce these Terms, or protect the security of an account.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will try to provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Serious security, abuse, fraud, or legal concerns may require immediate action.

Account closure does not erase obligations or provisions that by their nature should survive, including payment obligations already incurred, intellectual-property protections, disclaimers, liability limitations, and dispute-related provisions.

16. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homeschool Op is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. We do not warrant that every feature, source, AI response, state-guidance item, schedule, calculation, funding item, or record will always be complete, current, accurate, available, or error-free.

Homeschool decisions can depend on facts we do not know and on rules that change. You remain responsible for decisions about curriculum, instruction, supervision, records, legal requirements, funding eligibility, and other matters for your family.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, consumer rights, or other protections that cannot legally be excluded.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homeschool Op LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, loss of data, or loss of opportunity arising from or relating to use of the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homeschool Op LLC's aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid directly to Homeschool Op for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply where applicable law does not allow them and do not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

18. Responsibility for your misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims, or costs resulting from your unlawful use of Homeschool Op, your material breach of these Terms, or content you submit in violation of another person's rights. This section does not require a consumer to waive rights that applicable law does not allow to be waived.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law that applies to you requires a different rule or provides non-waivable consumer protections.

Subject to any non-waivable right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes that are not resolved informally may be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Arizona. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from using a court of competent jurisdiction for an eligible small-claims matter or seeking urgent relief needed to protect accounts, intellectual property, or security.

20. General terms

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the terms shown in an applicable checkout or offer, and any written terms that expressly apply to a specific Homeschool Op service form the agreement between you and us for that service.

If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision once does not waive the right to enforce it later.

You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent, except where applicable law provides otherwise. Homeschool Op may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or other business transfer.

Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, except that this does not excuse payment obligations already incurred or obligations that applicable law says cannot be excused.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service, our business, or applicable requirements change. If a change is material, we will provide notice appropriate to the change. The updated effective date will appear on this page. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the updated Terms where permitted by law.
